What Are Paso Lights?
Each year, the trees in Paso Robles City Park are illuminated with holiday lights from the day after Thanksgiving through the first week of January. Locals say the park transforms into a place of joy and holiday spirit during this time.
The Beginning
In 2023, the holiday lighting ceremony had an unexpected twist. As Mrs. Claus flipped the switch to light the trees around the gazebo, the crowd was greeted with something new—a stunning display of festive lights all throughout the park. Colorful orbs glowed among the sycamores, while the ancient oaks shimmered with twinkling icicle lights, and the giant pine was filled with hundreds of multicolored lights. The audience was in awe.
The lights immediately became a cherished part of the holiday season, bringing extra cheer and a magical vibe to downtown Paso Robles. Many residents have said they plan to make a post-meal stroll through the park a part of their holiday traditions. We hope you’ll come enjoy them this season—they light up right after Thanksgiving and stay on until early January.
